One day I will be thin enough. Just the bones, no disfiguring flesh. Just the pure clear shape of me, bones. That is what we all are, what we're made up of and everything else is just storage, deposit, waste. Strip it away, use it up. <33

Hey girlies, I'm really, truly sorry for kind of abandoning this site. I had a lot of personal things to deal with and it kind of took over my life. I've decided to move everything I'm doing on this site, to the site I made on Freewebs. It's updated and has more new pages and there's many new features - ex. weekly posts, celebrity thinspo in categories instead of just thinspo albums, etc. I would love it if you would still comment on this site though, to give me feedback on how I'm doing and such. Or, you can email me at :

starvetothebones@hotmail.com

Now, in case you've forgotten the address to the site, here it is:

http://www.freewebs.com/bonesarebeauty/

Also, I made a blogring. It's a challenge/plan type thing, but you can join even if you don't intend on participating in the rules posted. Please check it out:

http://www.xanga.com/groups/group.aspx?id=2309311

Finally, sorry it took me so long to post this, but I have the top 4 winners of the challenge. Sorry if results may be skewed, but I based it on those who posted with their total points for the entire challenge. You all did amazing though, regardless, but a special congratulations goes out to you four:

First Place - Enigmafire with a total of 314 points.

Second Place - un_xperfect with a total of 299 points.

Third Place - notgoodenough106 with a total of 272 points.

Fourth Place - thiiiiiinnn with a total of 200 points.

stay strong lovies, i hope to keep in touch with all of you, even though i won't be updating this site too often anymore <33

Question, before my update later (be honest)?

Would you mind if I started updating simply on the Freewebs site instead? Adding posts every day/other day, adding more thinspo, recipes, quotes, etc.? It'd be basically the same as this site, except you guys wouldn't have to comment the Freewebs site - you'd only comment on here for the challenge points or if you had suggestions for the Freewebs site.

Feedback?

Important Bulletins

Sorry I couldn't update yesterday girlies. I've just been crazy busy lately. Don't worry I'm not going to abandon you again - I'm going to keep up with daily updates or at least every other day updates if I can't get around to it on a certain day.

Ok, so your extra 10 points were earned from eating at least 3 different fruits veggies / making a thinspo collage. You were supposed to have done both of those things by today. If you did one, give yourself 10 points. If you did both, give yourself 20 points. You all did wonderfully on your collages by the way - they're beautiful.  Tomorrow's extra 10 points can be earned by doing 300 crunches. Good luck lovelies!

Once again, my site has been updated. I'm glad to see that it seems like you all are enjoying it, please continue giving me feedback.

Yesterday's Topic was Everything You Need to Know About Exercise.

Exercise is obviously a crucial part of weight loss. Not only does it help you burn calories and speed up your metabolism, but it will help tone and shape the muscle you have, making you look lean and fit. Plus, exercise releases endorphins in your body, elevating your mood and making you happier...and who doesn't want to be happier?

For your convenience, I have gathered several websites to help you with your exercise. Yay!

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/exercise/HQ01676 << Lists several motivating and convincing benefits as to why you should exercise.

http://www.seventeen.com/health/train << Go here to watch several different types of exercise demonstrations. Work those abs, boost your energy and get a toned body right in time for summer!

http://www.annecollins.com/exercise-calories/index.htm << This site has a list of hundreds of common foods and drinks and tells you just how much exercise you need to do and of what kind in order to burn off what you ate.

http://www.caloriecontrol.org/exercalc.html << This site allows you to enter your weight to find out how many calories you personally will burn doing a given exercise.

http://www.fitday.com/ << Finally, you can use the FitDay site to help track your progress, list your goals and keep a journal of what you're doing in relation to your weight loss.

Enjoy!

Today's Topic is Make the Perfect Salad.

Salad is a food many of us indulge in, because it's low in calories and full of negative calorie foods we seem to like so much. However, salads can get bland and boring if you're eating the same plain salad every night.

First off, if you're going to have a salad - avoid cheeses and croutons. It defeats the point of having a salad if you're just going to pile extra calories on top.

Second, contrary to popular belief, you can use salad dressing. Forget those plain, dry, lettuce only salads you see many people eating. Most Fat Free dressings contain about 60 calories per every 2 tablespoons. Use 1 tablespoon, and that's only an extra 30 calories. Fat Free Raspberry Vinaigrette Salad (very tasty, I use it on my salad) contains a mere 35 calories per 2 tablespoons. Use half of that, and that's practically nothing. And now for the big whopper. Wish-bone Salad Spritzers contain only one calorie per spritz. You can fully dress your salad for a small amount of 10 calories, or you can opt for less and have practically no calories, but yummy dressing on your salad nonetheless. Cool, right?

Finally, if you want the best salad possible - make it yourself. Bag salads tend to be full of pesticides and add more vegetables in than you might really need. Just grab a head of lettuce and some low calorie salad, and maybe a few carrots or two and you're set. A wonderful, low calorie dinner!

Important Bulletins

If you haven't noticed, this beginning section of my post is where I usually post things that are important, so I am now calling this section "Important Bulletins."

Ah, ok I'm sorry about not updating yesterday but I was busy until late, then my personal site almost got found out, so I had to deal with that and then my cigarette cravings were so bad, I just went to bed.

Anyway, since my old personal site almost was discovered a made a new one - starvetothebones. All my old subscriptions and subscribers got automatically deleted, so if I was subscribed to you or you were subscribed to me, I would love it if you'd add my new name.

Now, on to the extra 10 points. Yesterday's 10 points came from jumping rope for 15 minutes. If you didn't have a jump rope and decided to be resourceful and just jump around for 15 minutes or something like that, give yourself the points anyway. You can earn your extra 10 points today by eating at least 3 different fruits or vegetables & tomorrow's extra 10 points can be attained by making a thinspo collage. It's easy enough - open up Paint on your computer and your favorite thinspo pictures and put them into one document. Then host it on ImageShack or TinyPic and send me the link See, I like to do every other day something creative, I think it helps the motivation process. And because I'm just posting the one for today now, and in many of your time zones it may be late, you'll have until Tuesday to do both of these tasks. Good luck!

And finally, I added a few more pages to the site. I hope you all are enjoying it!

Yesterday's Topic was Foods Loaded with Nutrients & Low on Cals.

We all want foods loaded with nutrients without having to take in too many calories. But is it possible? In fact, it is!

Obviously fruits and veggies are loaded with things that are good for you and are notorious for having "negative calories." (For an explanation of negative calories, see the archive on my site). However, there are other foods that are easy to find at the grocery store that can help you attain those missing nutrients, without adding large numbers to your total intake.

Try Special K cereal. It's about 110 calories per bowl when added to skim milk and it contains significant amounts of potassium, protein and calcium. Yogurt is also another great food to indulge yourself in. Dannon Light 'N Fit yogurts contain only 60 calories per cup yet are home to many nutrients such as protein, vitamin A, vitamin C, thiamin, riboflavin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, iron, vitamin D, calcium, phosphorous, magnesium and zinc. Salmon, too, is relatively low in calories but is a top source for omega-3 fatty acids that promote heart and mental health.

For more food ideas, check nutrition facts on things you think might fall into this category at your local grocery store. With a little investigative work, it's possible to find the perfect foods to fit into your diet.

Today's Topic is Hide Physical Signs.

Most often, your body itself is a dead giveaway about your eating disorder. Many of us develop the physical symptoms, which makes it easier for anorexia/bulimia/EDNOS to be pinned on us. However, there are small ways you can mask the toll it's taking on your body.

  • Begin wearing certain makeup (but avoid others). Start using concealer and foundation or bronzer. Use the concealer under your eyes to hide dark circles and apply the foundation or bronzer evenly over your face to give yourself a natural glow. However, avoid blush because it's purpose is to accentuate your cheekbones which you don't want to do if you're trying to hide your weight loss and such.
  • Start taking a multivitamin. Get your nutrients without having to worry about calories or fat. The thing that could be affecting your physical appearance the most might just be a lack of vitamins. (For more information on vitamins, see my previous post).
  • When around people who may have suspicions, keep your arms at your sides. This flattens them out and makes them look wider, as opposed to having them in the air of in front of you, which often makes them look thinner.
  • Wear layers. Even if it's summer, you can still get away with wearing layers and not be too hot and not be considered strange. For example, put a cami tank top under a tank top you're wearing and then add a necklace to complete the outfit. It makes you look a little thicker and hides how much weight you've lost.
  • If you have to be in a bathing suit in front of others, try laying down on your stomach. Say you're trying to tan your back. This hides more of your ribs and hip bones.

Anyway, if you try, it should be simple enough to hide basic physical giveaways that may begin to appear.

Hello my lovelies, I hope you all had fantastic days.

PLEASE check out this site I made. It contains every post I've ever written, plus lots of my favorite thinspo. It'll really mean a lot to me .

http://www.freewebs.com/bonesarebeauty/index.htm

Um so anyway, today's extra 10 points came from writing a poem about ana/mia. To answer your questions, no you do not have to post your poems. If you give yourself the 10 points, I'm trusting that you honestly wrote one. This poem was not for me to judge how well you can write, but rather for you to express your feelings and creativity. Tomorrow's extra 10 points can be earned by ...being a kid! Ha, sort of. You can earn your 10 points by jumping rope for 15 minutes. Get to it!

Today's Topic is Vitamins.

Vitamins and minerals are essential to your growth and development. Usually the nutrients your body needs can be attained by eating a healthy, balanced diet, but since we all know we don't eat healthy, balanced diets, you can take a daily multivitamin to help give your body the nutrients it requires. But before I go on to talk about multivitamin pills, I'll give you a background on vitamins in general.

There are two types of vitamins - fat-soluble and water-soluble. Fat-soluble vitamins are stored in the fat tissues of your body and in your liver. They are stored in your body, until your body decides it needs them. Water-soluble vitamins travel through your bloodstream, dispensing nutrients by way of your circulatory system. Excess vitamins are excreted by the body.

Vitamins A, D, E and K are all fat-soluble vitamins. Vitamin A plays a large part in your eyesight and helps you see bright colors. Eggs, milk, apricots, nectarines, carrots, cantaloupe and spinach all contain Vitamin A. Vitamin D helps your body form strong bones. Vitamin D can be found in milk and milk products, fish and egg yolks. Vitamin E maintains your body's tissues and aids in the formation of red blood cells. Whole grains, leafy green vegetables, egg yolks and nuts are all sources of Vitamin E. Vitamin K helps your blood to clot when you get cut. It can be found in leafy green vegetables, liver, pork, and most dairy products.

Vitamin C and Vitamins B1, B2, B6 and B12 are all water-soluble vitamins. Vitamin C helps keep your body's tissues in good shape and helps prevent infection. Vitamin C can be found in citrus fruits, cantaloupe, strawberries, tomatoes, broccoli and cabbage, just to name a few. Now, the several B vitamins are crucial to metabolic activity. They help make energy and dispense it throughout your body when it is needed. Whole grains, fish and other types of seafood, poultry and meats, eggs, dairy products, leafy green vegetables, beans, and most citrus fruits all contain the B vitamins.

However, even if they do eat balanced diets, many people opt to take a multivitamin to ensure they're getting as many nutrients as they need. Multivitamins you could take include Centrum, One-A-Day Women's/Weight Smart, or Vitaplen Complete. Most drugstores and/or grocery stores stock multivitamins. Just remember to check the label to make sure you're getting your crucial nutrients .
